I was involved with Fortran for many years, as an application programmer, Fortran instructor, and standards activist, with particular interest in the evolution of Fortran to best meet contemporary needs. I was a member of the technical committee (J3) for twenty years, seven as vice chair and six as chair.

  This is the committee that does the technical work of developing and writing the next version of the Fortran standard. At this website you can access the latest draft, as well as find out about meeting dates, see the technical papers, etc. (I designed and built this website originally; it is now maintained by the committee librarian.)

• WG5 - the international Fortran standards committee - the policy committee.
  This committee collects and determines requirements for the next version of the standard, and reviews/approves the standard document produced by the technical committee.
