Jeff and I are numbers 13 and 14 on the list of those climbing all 50 state highpoints; we are the first father/son team, and I am the first to have climbed them all over the age of 50 (50/50#1). Eight of the 50 appear on this page, with links: the first (#1), last (#50), and the six that are technical rock or ice/glacier climbs. Of the remaining 42, 23 are decent walkups and the other 19 are "wimps" - either no real walk, or there's a road to the top (10 of these are decent walkups if you don't take the road). Click (almost) anywhere to go there.

Denali - #40

|
This is the big one of the fifty, and one of the "seven summits" (continental highpoints). Denali is the highpoint of Alaska and the tallest mountain in the world from base to summit. This view is from the 20,300' summit, in June 1989, overlooking the 15,000' South Buttress and the Ruth Glacier.
